In light of the latest COVID-19 developments, stakeholder feedback, recommendations from local, state and federal health authorities, and the likely need for nursing professionals to remain in the communities they serve during the pandemic, SGNA’s Board of Directors has decided to move the event dates to November 1-3, 2020 (with pre-meeting events October 30-31) in Louisville, KY.
SGNA’s Board of Directors and staff team knows our community relies on the relevant education and contact hours gained at the Annual Course, and does not take any decision that impacts the event lightly.
However, these considerations are secondary to our concern for the safety and well-being of our attendees, exhibitors and sponsors, your patients and your communities. As such, SGNA’s Board of Directors and staff team have been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation, stakeholder feedback and recommendations from local and state health authorities, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
At the same time, we’ve been working with our partners in Louisville to find an alternate date that still allows you to attend the event within 2020, but at a time when COVID-19 is not likely to pose a risk, you are not urgently needed at your facilities and you are able to travel for the event. We feel comfortable we have achieved that balance with these late fall dates.
