Shanghai Newsummit Biopharma and HandInScan – an innovative infection control technology company – signed an agreement today to introduce the HandInScan technology in China through validating with leading hospitals and key opinion leaders. The signing took place at the Wenzhou Biomedical Innovation Center Healthcare Forum held during the week of the China G20 Summit in the presence of Mr. Dai Tao, Deputy Director of the Development Center for Medical Science & Technology of the National Health & Family Planning Commission, and Mr. Zhang Geng, Mayor of Wenzhou.
The HandInScan Technology is the only quality-assured system focusing on hand disinfection quality control that can objectively determine hand hygiene effectiveness. The system is designed to teach and verify if protocols are followed properly.
Infectious diseases are a significant threat to patients worldwide including China and have a burden on healthcare spending. Among them healthcare associated infections affect 2-3% of the patients which can be significantly reduced with proper hand washing compliance and technique following the WHO guidelines. HandInScan brings that much needed hand hygiene education and control to an everyday practice integrating with the hospital’s quality control system.
